What is going on?

The answer's right there - the Flash spinoff didn't count into AMD's result for 2005, but still did in 2004.

Does Intel really need to worry about AMD? Not if the latest figures from market watcher iSuppli are anything to go by.

Hrm.....

Odd that everyone seems to be misrepresenting this data. Even toms hardware says "Intel increases lead in semiconductor market".

yet the article they link to says ""While Intel benefited from the strength of the microprocessor market, it lost 2.9 percentage points of share during the year to AMD."" which means AMD is gaining on intel. Ok, new question, what are the journalists smoking?
