pretty much, the price war was hurting margins all around, so they just jacked the price back up.

It was a stupid mistake of AMD and nVidia to even GO into this price war. But it benefitted us consumers... i mean... 225$ for a GTX260 SC with eVGAs quality and warranty and the like? WOOT!

Seems like most prices are starting to come back down. I think it may have been a database error.

Its surprising in this case though that they still have stock on some parts that have gone up. Its also surprising because its only Aug. 1st which is a bit early for GT200 to be going OOS/EOL. Still about 4 weeks before GT200b is expected to launch.

They've jacked up 4850's and 4870's too. It's a powertrip, not EOL.

I wish there was an Emotion thingy for a MIDDLE FINGER. You deserve one NewEgg!!! :|

Ya, shame on them for making money. Do they think they are in business or something.. PFFFTttt...

I dunno about you guys, but I have found some sweet deals there, always get super fast shipping and the only time I had a problem (during the great Pay-Pal rebate fiasco) they kicked in a substantial chunk of change to keep their customers happy even though they had no obligation to.

I have noticed the 4870's going up too, I guess it's the old supply and demand thing going on.

you are crazy sgrinavi... both companies are business, as such both of them should be selling at a loss just to make sure we get great deals and to push for market share. Makes perfect sense to me...

Are u serious?
The sad thing is that the "Geek Squad" is going to tell some poor kid some BS about how great that card is...
They are selling these for that much because they can get away with it...

yea... it was right there next to the visiontek HD4850 (for 10 dollars less)...

And there were even older cards for more then 100$, some costing over 300$ while being way weaker then the 4850... insane prices... all over the place.
