If my mobo comes with built in network card, but i also happen to have Lynksys ethernet card, is there any point in using Lynksys card other than wasting 1 PCI slot?

Depending on the chipset used.. some onboard chip sucks, sucking your cpu cycles... which board ?

For most people there won't be a difference. What are you doing with them? What chipsets?

On-board NICs are typically built into a PCI-E lane, so technically they have more throughput, but you most likely won't see a tangible benefit from that. You probably won't see too much benefit from a standard card vs on-board, as they both use chips that rely on the CPU for their network processing.
