what is faster and better AMD athlon xp 2000+ or P4 2.00AGhz 400mhz?

the athlon will run laps over that sorry @$$ version A p4. Its not until the 2.4c p4 that intel becomes competitive.
 
Athlon XP is faster and better. But go for XP 2400+ (Thoroughbred core) or even mobile XP 2400+ (Barton core) if you can afford, for better bang out of the buck. 🙂
