Not cracker as in racial slur, but something else? Is there any other meaning behind this word? It's just kinda funny cus somebody just text messaged my friend and called him a cracker (and he's asian). 😕

I believe a cracker is a person who doesn't know much about computers, but just runs scripts written by others to try and mess up computer systems. Used in conjunction with the term "script kiddie". I think anyways.

Mostly, but also a cracker is someone who is out to hack not for knowledge, but to mess something up.

Hacker: Someone who tries to break into systems to see if it is possible, and notifies the sysadm afterwards.

Cracker: Someone who tries to break into systems to steal and/or destroy, to open backdoors into the system, etc.

Scriptkiddie: Someone who'd like to be a Cracker, but is too f*cking stupid and therefor just uses scripts and tools he/she downloaded to break into systems.

RIAA: Assholes who break into systems looking for evidence to f*ck someone with, and if they don't find it do not notify the sysadm of their illegal entry either.
