Just moved into a new house, got a phone line installed from Ameritech (After about 6 weeks of waiting).. now I need to choose a LD carrier.. Anyone find any good deals on LD? Cheap rates with no fees per month? I don't use much long distance, and when I do I usually use my cell phone which includes it.. but I like to have it at home just in case..

For years, I was a loyal AT&T customer. Hardly ever made LD calls, but had it anyway:confused: Swore I'd never go with MCI or Sprint. Buncha crap! Then AT&T started charging me "minimum use" charges, said To H*LL with LD!!! Don't use it anyway! So I removed it from my phone bill.

Now that there's PC to phone, who needs LD anyway?;) -kd5-

Just use essential. 5.9 cents/min, no monthly fee, online billing. my last bill was 60 cents, and they didn't let me pay them since it was less than $1.

hurrah

oh, and they pay you $25 to sign up. I also made quite a few bucks referring people to them.

I use bigzoo, www.bigzoo.com, it's 3.9 cents a min if you use the toll free number, cheaper if you have local access but I don't, I call about 1100 miles away pretty often so it works out well.
