I remember something quite a while ago.... Something... like... my doctor saying something to the tune of "quit drinking or you're going lose all your memory"... yeah, that was as far back as I go. Whew, it's been a while!

I remember standing up in my crib giggling with my twin sister in a crib next to mine. I also have fairly vivid memories of being in a pack n play and pressing my face up against the mesh sides.

My earliest memory is of riding in a car with my mom on the way to get my first pair of glasses.

I asked her "Why do I need glasses mom"?

She said "Because your eyes are turning into your nose".

What she meant was that I was becoming cross-eyed, but being 5-6 years old, I interpreted it literally. Naturally I was horrified, imagining my eyes turning into smaller noses on either side of my main nose, or my nose spreading out to cover my eyes.

I remember getting scolded for sharing five flavor dog biscuits with our collie mutt named Laddie. We were in the pantry and both chowing down on his dog food. Mom got quite upset.

I also remember the first time my father lied to me. I vaguely remember the whole instance. During the day I was outside playing with the little girl next door (she was also about three) and we were doing something (Don't remember what but maybe understanding our anatomical differences) behind some bushes and my mom scolded me (Do you see a pattern) and said we'll she what your father has to say when he gets home. The town we were living in was on a branch line from Vegas to Hoover dam and I could here the old steam engine shuffling cars in the yard) My Dad who I think was amused at my predicament said "I was going to take you down to the station to watch the trains but because you misbehaved I won't. My dad would sometimes take me there or even down to the dam to watch trains BUT only on the weekends, not when he was tired from a day of work. I remember clearing thinking the thee year old version of "BS Dad" but wisely played the disappointed son.

I vaguely remember a couple other things about that house and the yard which by the time I was four we had left (moved from Boulder City to Henderson) so I know I was three or younger. On thing I remember was the Blizzard of 49 because my grandmother gave me mittens (She lived in upstate New York) and why would anyone give someone in the desert mittens. Then about Christmas (I had just turned 3) it started to snow and soon the Las Vegas Valley was no longer reachable from Boulder City and it keep snowing and soon Las Vegas was not reachable from anywhere because the Diesel Engines on the main line could move the snow, planes couldn't land and all roads were closed for over a week. All I remember was snowball fights and being the only kid (even if I was smaller than most) who had mittens and everyone else took time to warm their hands before reloading with snowballs. I was an automatic they were single shot. I'm not sure if the dog food instance or my father's prevarication occurred before or after the blizzard but I was 3 years and 28 days old when it started to snow.

my first memory is about 10-11 months old. laying on a brown pillow the floor, kicking my legs. marble floor, brown pillow, night time.

i have a few around 1-2 years old too. watching a mobile in my crib. my mom comes in and feeds me iron supplement. tastes terrible.

sitting in the toy room, golden floor, afternoon/evening sun shining through the windows. i see dust particles on my eyes, have no idea what they are.

around 3: i have a dream where my swallows me and her stomach is filled with meat tenderizers. they crush me, i die. freak out, wake up, run to parents bedroom.

I think I remember something around the 1yr mark. I remember crawling in my kitchen and dunking a little basketball through a little hoop that was suction cupped to my fridge. I was crawling, so I most likely was not even yet walking, or had just learned to walk but still preferred to crawl.

I vaguely remember a few things from the 5-8yo range, and a few more from my early tween years. Kind of nuts how I don't remember tons of stuff, even in my early years of high school.

Earliest memory I have is scrambling out of the bath tub and running into the living room dripping and buck naked to the beeps and boops noises of the Super Mario Bros. theme, of which my mother started playing after she bought and hooked up what would be my first gaming system.

having seizures helped a lot with memories.

occasionally when i had a seizure it would seem to burn the situation in my memory and i can remember exactly what was happening beforehand, what it felt like, like i am still actually there.

I remember the day of JFK's funeral. I was three, and my family gathered together while it was on TV. It was a very sad day.

I was 16 and a senior in a parochial high school when he was shot. We all went to the chapel to pray and then got told that he had expired. Truly a sad day. I don't remember (guess it was not that important to a two year old) when Truman beat Dewey but four years later I do remember "campaigning" for Eisenhower with my mates. We found an old flag and had a mini-parade down the street singing "We Like Ike" much to the dismay of my parents who were for Adlai Stevenson. That was 52 and I was five and have all sorts of memories then; watching Hopalong Cassidy on the only television on the block (The Castleberry's had a herd of kids and a TV) and all of use kids were allowed to sit on the floor for 1/2 hour a week to watch a show of our choosing and getting kicked into the first grade (out of Kindergarten) because I drew a bridge over a river with a truck crossing it and labeled the "Navajo" and the river "Mississippi." I was four and those are real distinct memories.

When I was a baby my mom accidentally dropped me down a flight of stairs and I hit my face on the edge of those old radio/tv players. I have a scar under my eye from that accident.

She also put lanolin in my hair because I had a habit of pulling out my hair and eating it.

Sadly, I don't remember any of this stuff. :(

I have vivid memories going back to when I was 2. I used to remember more but age and stress have made it foggy.

I can remember lots of stuff from Kindergarten. I'd say pretty much everything. I can remember a lot of things that happened at home and in the yard of my house and neighbors, but I can't say for sure if those things were before or after Kindergarten. I don't have a good "constant" for basing time around because I lived in the same house for the first 9 years of my life. If I moved when I was in Kindergarten, I would know if the memories I have were in one house or another. But I think that's the way it works for all of us. We don't think of time when we are kids, so our memories don't include that data. We need a time marker to base our memories around. Kindergarten is a pretty big one.

We should be glad we don't remember too far back, though. Most of us wouldn't want to remember being fed as a child, if you know what I mean.

My short term memory is absolute shit unless it's something I'm really interested in. But my long term memory is very good. I can go back to god knows how far. I can remember being in my crib. That's how far back. More vivid was Preschool and kindergarten. I remember the teachers names, and I remember my mom showing me the kindergarten class room the day before school. I remember seeing puppets and how I wanted to play with them and when I went to bed that night I couldn't wait to go to school to play with the puppets.

I remember my first swimming lesson, Lake Metigoshe. They threw my ass of the boat and into the water. I must have been 5 or 6 and the only thing I was concerned about was if fish bite. I learned real quick to move your legs like a scissor. Latter on I got formal swimming lessons while I was in the 1st grade.

I'm strange in that I go over in my head at the end of the day of all my encounters and the things that I learned. LOL Perhaps it's my dwelling on the past so much that I can remember it so well.

It's funny those little things you take so literally when your young. I was just talking to my mom about what I call my first horror movie. The Wizard Of OZ! I mean between the flying creepy monkeys and the witch that melted I was horrified. To see a witch just melt I was like, MIND BLOWN! I ran to the kitchen and hid under the table.

For some reason, I remember my parent's dishwasher and playing with it as a toddler, it was black with chrome border around and split in two sections, a short stationary section at the bottom and the actual door section. There was also a small dent on the door near the bottom. There was this chrome knob used to select the setting or time (I presume) and I used to like playing with it, if you turned it the wrong way it would unscrew, I'd do that and put it back and unscrew it again, my mom would eventually stop me. It also had these chrome like cube buttons that if you push some of the others that were already pressed would pop out. I was probably like 2 and I can still picture how it looked like very broadly... of course we had it for a decent while, I was older when it got changed, though probably not even close to a teenager yet so still a long time ago. I imagine the memory is probably fuzzy and if I actually did see that dishwasher it would look different than what I remember. I think it was an Inglis... I actually have to try to google it now and see if I can actually find it.

I also remember some very early stuff from school. I have very feint memories of the first day of school, mostly, I was kind of curious as to what it was even about, and I kind of remember it being more or less playing around with toys and stuff. I remember doing finger paintings and playing a lot with lego.

I imagine that at this point I don't actually remember those things, I just remember remembering it, if that makes sense.

Three years old is the earliest. Seems to be a common age for first memories.

I specifically remember being excited to play with the marble-tube toy my friend had when I was dropped off there during my sister's birth. It's a short flash of memory but it's there. That would have put me at 2 years 9 months.

The next memory I can date is in pre-school, so that makes me late 3 years old or early-mid 4 years old. I had my sweater on backwards and another kid advised me of it. I don't think I had realized that such a think was possible until then, so it stuck in my mind. It was a blue sweater with white snowflakes on it.

My mom remembers being 6 months old. I remember being a few days old. I also remember being circumcised, that was an awful experience. Oh and yes I do remember breastfeeding, might explain my strong affinity for good looking breasts.

I have lots of memories when I was 3. Mostly just normal kid stuff. I remember waking up at night and my dad went to get my mom at work and I was alone and confused. That may be my earliest memory.

I do remember pre-school, that was back in 1969. I remember kindergarten. I remember getting chickenpox. I remember my dad's new car - 1968 Pontiac Parisienne. I remember when he got a loaner car when his Pontiac was in the shop. That would be 1971 and the loaner car was an Opel GT.

I have many memories of mundane things like watching sesame street in the early 70's, walking down a flight of stairs, some of my toys, various friends and many other things.
