What Is "dummy text"

I am having a problem with msgsvr32 and devcon32.dll, they just are not playing well together. While I was doing the 3 finger salute to get out of that mess, I saw that "dummy text" was listed in the Close Program box. What is that?
FYI, this just started after I re-installed XP Pro to dual boot with 98SE. I am not running an ATI video card but I am running a Sound Blaster 5.1 Gamer.
WTH is "dummy text"?
