What is DRAM Power Down?

In my BIOS I have an option under the "Advanced DRAM" settings for "DRAM Power Down".

I can enable it or disable it (the default).

If I enable it, I must choose "Chip Select" or "Dual Channel"

Can anyone tell me what this is and what it does?

I can't seem to find anything on it.

Thanks!
