I am new to CD burning and see both CD-R and CD-Audio media advertsed. I understand that CD-R can be used for both audio and data. What is the reason for CD-Audio media? Thanks.

CD-Audio = you pay a tax to the fat music companies. Required (usually) to copy CD's in stand alone players. If you make from your PC, use normal CD-Rs.

TunaBoo,
Thanks for the reply. I was not certain if a difference in quality or which audio CD-players could read the different media existed.:)

Both types can be used for audio and data, but the audio version is specifically designed for audio (or so they say). Just use plain CD-R's, they are cheap and work great.
