What is Dell's policy on dead pixels?

I recieved a 2005FPW about a week ago, but it has a dead pixel. I'm a perfectionist... If I spend $450 on a monitor, it should be perfect. So what is Dell's policy on dead pixels?

I doubt ANY company is going to exchange an LCD for a single dead pixel. I think it has to be something like 4-5, but I don't no anything particularly for DELL.

If you bought it less than 21 days ago you can return it and get a new one for any reason via Dell's satisfaction guaranteed policy.

BTW I think you can order any monitor from Dell and do this (not just Dell-branded ones) although I'm not certain. You can also keep returning it until your happy. Many people do that.

i'm not sure about this, but i think theres some sort of fee involved in this on your part. I think you pay the shipping or some handling fee or something, but I could be wrong. That may just be on a return, not an exchange.

It sounds like you're within their 21 day satisfaction guarantee, so contact them (Chat is quick and probably about the most painless), and they'll send you a replacement with little problem (just say you want a replacement, tell them its defective).

Its this generous policy that has made Dell one of the favorites for people looking into getting a nice monitor.

You should only have to pay for shipping if you're returning it, otherwise they should include an airbill to take care of sending back the bad one. Maybe make a point of mentioning this when you contact them for a replacement, as sometimes they will forget.

I just sent an email to US_CAG_Customer_Care@dell.com explaining the situation, making sure to include the order number and such. Had the replacment on the way the next day, received it the day after. They'll pay shipping both ways for the exchange. In my case they forgot to include the return airbill. Sent another email and they arranged for UPS to come pick it up. Quite painless really.

Dell really is the best company (As far as mailorder goes) to get a LCD from. No other company comes close to their awesome 21 day return policy and with a Mailorder LCD there is no other way to order, at least imo.

Are you sure its dead or stuck cause stuck can sometimes be fixed byrubbing the screen where the pixel is with SLIGHT pressure.

21 day satisfaction guarantee.

LCD for laptops is 5 dead pixels to have it replaced. Not sure about desktop LCD though.

Well, I called tech service after being redirected (read: hung up on) by customer service, and the guy said that I couldn't return it. But I definitely am under the 21-day guarantee. Total Satisfaction? I'm not totally satisfied. Meh.

don't tell thme its got dead pixels just say you want to return it because your not happy with it. CS is dumb and probably things Tech services can do something with it.
Having worked in a call center before I doubt you were hung up... most IVR systems are crap at best more than likely you were actually disconnected. Pretty much every call center I have ever seen you would get fired for hanging up on customers...
