What is dantian

I'm a reiki master Usui, Dragon, Karuna Ki, Kundalini and a bunch of others (there's a lot of Reiki out there)

Anyway I work (volunteer) at a lot of assisted living and hospice places. Some are very well run, most are not.

Couple days ago I was sitting with an sweet elderly asian gentleman. He liked when I held his hand. I don't do any other reiki unless there is a very good staff, or there is family who are familiar with reiki.

So, this delightful gentleman responded to my energy treatments. He had a large round energy mass in his belly. He told me I had a powerful lower dantan and I should work with it more and not waste it.

Curious if anyone knows anything about this.

The first time I got reiki done I assumed my person had very hot stones she was pressing down on my chest. Nope, just her hands. I was like wtf.

Yeah, that one.

He's probably telling you to work more on cultivating your energy and storing it. There are some schools of Qi Gong that focus mostly on strengthening the lower core, and if that is powerful and full of good qi, then your entire body will be stronger.

Is your Reiki a release of energy? If so, he probably feels that you need to develop a stronger core and not emit as much when you treat people.

Sounds like a different approach and philosophy from what you know.
