What is CPUTIN and AUXTIN and are they meaningless?

I've done a fair bit of research on this including past threads in this forum but still not really got to the bottom of it. I have realtemp figures on my i3 of 30°c average (idle) but according to HWMonitor my CPUTIN is 90°c and my AUXTIN is 60°c. Nothing is hot to touch in and around my CPU.

I am by far not the only one with such wacky numbers but all I've been able to research is they're probably wrong and nothing to worry about?

CPU: i3-2130
Mobo: Asus P8Z68V-LX

Relax mate. I have a 2500K and sabertooth and have outrageous temps only on those two.

CPUTIN - most definitely tcase, mine is a static 125, no thermtrip kicking in. Not even slow down. Bogus.

AUXTIN - could be auxillary entrance temp? Or an obselete value. Mine is always above 60.

Interestingly, this problem has been encountered almost entirely in Asus boards. Could be multiple apps trying to obtain sensor readings (ai suite and hwm). Or these sensors dont exist or even better, hwmonitor is now useless. Use coretemp/realtemp.

Interesting point about the Asus. I recently built my Mum a PC using an i3-2100 and an MSI H67 mobo and HWMonitor doesn't even display those values.

I think the algorithm that processes the digital thermal sensor readings factors power consumption into its calculations. The massive fluctuations in clocks and voltage in SB cpus due to intel turbo distort the final readings. Or it is simply a matter of Tjunction - TjMax. This is regarding cputin.

Couldnt find anything for auxtin. The last man who knew what it was died. :(
