Hey all,
First time overclocking here, got an A64 3800+ (Single core Venice) paired with MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum, 2GB Corsair XMS DDR400 running at 2.5,3,3,7.
Vcore raised to 1.55v (1.425 * 1.099), memory at 2.7v.
This gives me final FSB of 220 and memory running at 440 because of a 200 divider, 2.64 final clock speed. (220 * 12)
Unfortunately, I am not Prime stable at this setup and want to know what's going on. Prime ran for 3 hours alst night before I went to bed; when I woke up it appears the whole system crashed as my computer was still on but the screen was totally blank. Needed to reset. The night before, when I woke up, the screen saver was on but frozen.
I was wondering what it means to fail Prime 95. Obviously this counts, but do most posters just refer to the software program noting afailure and then halting the test, rather than a huge lockup or crash?
I think the problem may be the memory, as it's not rated to run above 400, but memtest ran fine for 3 hours with this current setup.
Thoughts, anyone?
