What is considered a peripheral computer part?

I'm trying to figure out if I have 14 days or 30 days to return something at Staples and the only thing that I'm not sure of is what the definition of a peripheral is.

BTW.. I'm wondering if a internal cd burner is considered a peripheral. My guess is no because it's internal, but what do I know?

Strictly speaking, anything not:

- Processor
- RAM
- Motherboard

...gets Peripheral in my book.

Thanks for clarifying that for me. Just to let you know, if the burner is considered a peripheral, Staples has a 14 day and not a 30 day return policy on it.
