hi,im going to make a new system, and decided on amd 64. however i was suprised to see so many models and am confused alot. i had a barton 2500 clocked to 2200mhz. my new system should be higher than that. 2800 or 3700 are out of my price range but i found a new athlon 64 3400+ labelled (cg) at 2.4ghz and 512kb. whih is being sold just a bit more expensive than regular 3400+ 2.2ghz 1mb. they are all socket 754. is this cg stands out for newcastle? and is that rating for the cg revision for 3400+ at 2.4ghz and 512 kb correct? if someone can help me out with this confusion i will be gratefull.

CG is a later and better stepping which is a better overclcoker. All you need to do is look for a chip, any A64 chip, which part number ends in post AP for a CG version. IE AT, AR, AX etc.
