What is causing thisssssssssssssss

Ok sometimes strange is happening that I can't explain. While typing randomly some keyboard characters get repeated for everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr like that. It's as if the button was kept pressed down. Recently I pressed the "return" key and it kept doing it again and again 🙂 It stops as soon as I hit any other key on the keyboard.

I have firewall and anti-virus software installed and my 1st reaction was that maybe I got infected but I am not sure anymore as I have used adaware, AVG, Panda, Zone Alarm, search and destroy etc etc and they all say that my PC is fine. My W2k OS is upto date. Plus I have not done anything to put my PC at risk. Is there any key on the keyboard that could cause this if pressed by accident?
What is the key between "start" and "Ctrl" button on the right side of the space bar key?

Another clue while it was doing this I saw my desktop and all the files were getting selected/highlighted one after the other randomly...as soon as I touched one of the files it stopped doing it.

Everything is fine as far as I can tell. What the hell is going on?

It has happened total of 4 times so far. My sixth sense says that I am not infected but....

We had to remove some of the Ses from your Message Title, it was causing an issue on the main site.

Edit: Wow, this really is about stuck keys? 😀

I guess you were taking the micky out of my topic! I was about to ask you what a "s" key was :-(

It's right next to the "any" key. 😉

Have you tried, unplugging the keyboard and rebooting? Spilt anything on the keyboard lately? Tried another keyboard?

Get a new keyboard, obviously the keys are getting stuck or something so just get a new keyboard or clean the old one.

It's a logitech keyboard around 1 year old and clean as brand new. I am not dirty like Mr bamacre 🙂
Yes I reconnected it few times and rebooted as well. I even started my PC in safe mode and did all the virus scans as I was getting paranoid 🙂 It does it randomly. Has not done for couple of hours now so lets see.

You all think it's keyboard related then? If it happens again I will connected an older stiff keyboard.

Replace your computer. If it's still a problem, replace the keyboard.

I believe its neithers fault.

My Logitech keyboard has in the past had problems with "sticky" keys and not picking up keystrokes but I found it to be a simple case of not properly receiving wireless signals.

I once tidied my desk, ended up with bottles of deodourant next to my wireless receiver and wondered why I had keyboard problems, mouse worked fine. Cleared the area around the receiver, pushed my tower back a tad and voila it worked again.

I have no idea what this keyboard is but its awsome! I saw it in a toms hardware video, the one where they pour oil into the pc to cool it. The keyboard used on that rig looks invincible, no spaces between keys, its like a touch sensitive one, but it still has buttons to push.

Im gonna go google this new type of keyboard now actually, would go well with my new rig.
