What is causing the audio noise/EMF?

Trying to figure out what is causing this noise and I'm at a loss. Headphones going directly into the sound card I can't hear it. Using a 3.5mm splitter as soon as I patch in the sound board I get the noise so I would think it was the board but then my mouse also effects it...

Setup is a creative sound blaster ZX 3/5mm to 1/4 adaptor going to a behringer x1240usb mixer.

Well seems like you already diagnosed that the splitter is letting the EMF noise in.

First thing I would say is PSU. What brand is your PSU? Can you move your PC to another outlet? Maybe a bad ground? What other peripherals are on that PC ? WiFi..Bluetooth? List your components to give us a better idea.

I doubt it's the PSU. Looks like wherever your mouse is plugged in and your sound board have poor separation. Might be the case. Try plugging your soundboard directly to the motherboard and the mouse somewhere else.

A lot of cases with USB ports have really bad shielding.

It's a CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W. Logitech g710+, G500 mouse and that is it. Pulled everything else out.

I'll try and separate audio and USB and see if that does the trick.

Confused. OP states that you CAN'T hear it plugged in directly. Use a splitter and you can hear. 2nd post states that you removed the splitter and you can hear it. Was your OP in error or maybe your splitter has a short and damaged it.

Sorry for the confusion, I could have gone in a bit more detail.

From sound card to 3.5mm splitter with only headphone plugged do not have the noise. When plugging in the mixer into the other leg of the splitter the noise appears. Unplugging the mixer from the splitter and the sound goes away.

I would have assumed it was the mixing board but why would the mouse affect it?

What you are hearing is emf noise from the mouse. Your question should not be why the mouse is creating the noise, your question should be why are you picking it up.

Lets look at the cable going from the splitter to the mixer. can you try another?
