I have only one word: FILIBUSTER.
Bush wont have to veto anything.
that's true as well... I don't think the Dem supporters realize that though. they seem to think that January will bring on some era of constant change unrattled or hindered by the Republican party... it's hillarious!
Depends on how you define change...I personally look forward to a drop in the number of various unconstitutional laws the Republicans spent the last 6 years passing. That seems like a change to me, and one that the Republicans can't do a thing about. Hell, the reason I wanted the Dems to win had nothing to do with that they WOULD do, it's what they WOULDN'T do that attracted me, and lucky for me, that's actually something they can accomplish.
that's true enough. I just do not agree with your list of supposedly "unconstitutional laws."
Fair enough, I didn't think you would

My point was that change does not simply mean passing laws you agree with, it also means not passing laws you don't agree with. In fact, I imagine old-school conservatives and libertarians find that a MORE important function of government...there are a lot of situations where not passing a bad law has more positive impact than passing a good law. And the former is something the Dems now have enough power to do, especially considering the likely opposition they'll face if they try and do the latter. Really, despite the fact that Dems aren't all THAT libertarian, the next few years should be pretty good to people of that particular political bent.
