In the next few days I'll be done with a long VHS to DVD conversion project at home so I'll be able to install SETI@Home again on my system.

I notice a Classic and a Boinc version, what is this Boinc?

Also, where is the page that tells me what to download to get started on SETI again?

We have a few people that are really up on Boinc.
 
Basically, BOINC is a new platform that many different projects can run from, including the next version of S@H. When the BOINC version of SETI is ready to handle a couple hundred thousand users pretty much bug free then the "classic" version of SETI will be shut down.

You can choose to run whichever project you want, but why not help out the "Classic" team regain 5th place before it's over, which is looking sooner than later by the looks of this thread.
 
If someone switches from classic to seti boinc do those unit count towards Team Anandtechs stats or are S@H classic and seti boinc so different that they don't coincide?😕
 
Thanx, I've been hearing all this stuff about Classic being shut off, and was considering swiching to boinc, but want to wait so my WU's count toward TA.:beer:
