What is "BitTorrent" ?

it is a P2P method of downloading files....

It is pretty awesome for downloading TV Episodes.

Right now it requires each person to upload so there are no leeches. Everyone has to share if they are downloading.

Its a way of sharing files, a lot simpler then kazaa or other P2P proggies.

BitTorrent isn't that good for anime...

IRC/XDCC Bots/EDU FTPs > BitTorrent

True.. but on a university connection where every way to file share is capped unless it's on the network.. it works wonders.

Somethin's going on with all torrents across the internet the past 2 days... many sites are being forced to take down even the links to the torrent files...

Yep my favorite site has gone down but it looks like they are looking to host somewhere else.....

Basically, it's a thing where you download a file while uploading the parts that you're getting at the same time. A nice file-sharing app for POPULAR files at the time; it doesn't work that well if the BT is over a week old.

I just got .hack//sign off kazaa and it was surprisingly easy to get the whole series...

i tried Bit torrent but whenever i tried to Dl some anime it would just sit there at the 0 percent thing. never Dled anything

Kazaa Lite is much better IMO for anything. and News groupes nothing beats them

Lots of leechers out there... but if your on a university connection.. it's really sweet. Just watch yourself download at 3k/sec and people leech 300k/sec off you. Wonderful stuff.

There are clients out there that allow you to throttle upload slots and speed. It does say this affects your download rate, but I haven't seen that it actually does...
