What is better for running 3d software?

Assuming that the 2 systems are identical and using W2K/XP PRO-

Software is Maya
________________________________________________

Computer A - Has 1.5Gb of 333 Mhz RAM

DDR PC2700

SLOT DIMM A 1GB
SLOT DIMM B 512 Mb

________________________________________________

Computer B - Has 2.2 Gb of 266 Mhz RAM

Slot '0' has 1 GB
Slot '1' has 512 MB
Slot '2' has 512 MB

This is all I know. How can I check more details about Computer B Ram?



 
Depends on your workload? If you need less than 1.5GB of RAM, the system with the faster RAM will be faster. If you need enough RAM that you'd be swapping to disk on the first system but not on the second, the second will be MUCH faster. Also depends on how limited by RAM bandwidth Maya is. I'm guessing the CPU will be more of a bottleneck.
