What is better for my parents? XPC or Laptop?

What do you guys think is a better buy for my parents (very basic PC usage). I need to take the computer on a plane so I want something portable. I was thinking about getting the Shuttle SS51G plus a Celeron 2.4GHZ, 256 DDR, CDRW and 40 gig HD. I will use the built in video card, sound card, etc. I figure after rebates for the other components should be around $350. Plus I would also bring them a 17-15 LCD (figure around 250 bucks).

OR I could buy a cheapo laptop that usually go for 600-700 after rebates (HP, Compaq or Dell usually). What do you guys think is better?

XPC. If something breaks in the laptop, it will be expensive and time consuming to replace it.

are these xpc's any good? i wanted a computer with a low profile to run a cs server box on.
