I am currently using the onboard ALC850 Sound card on my GA-K8NS PRO and its ok, but I have a couple of hercules fortissimo 3 7.1 sound cards.

which is better for gaming, as far as frame rates are concerned?
 
When I was researching for my new build I had several forum members tell me that onboard sound can slow down your framerate. So I went and purchsed a sound card. I think it wouldn't hurt to disable your onboard sound and try one of your Hurcules.
