what is best Cellphone for stock quotes?

Hey, my dad is wanting a blackberry for christmas so he can check his stocks.

Anyone have a good phone that has large number display and will let him easily check his stock pricing?

Well all blackberries use the same OS so they are all going to act and look the same. Now it just comes down to what phone he likes the best physically.

Well, I am under the opinion blackberry might not be the best solution (?). I would of got him an iphone if it had push buttons instead of a touch screen (his hands are always very dirty).

Maybe blackberry might be the best solution.. has anyone looked into doing this?

So on the plus side, on an iPhone, the text is big and clear, it's automatically updated when you access the page, it gives a graph of the stock and it's very easy and intuitive to use.

On the downside, it's expensive, tied to AT&T - and it's a touchscreen.

For the screen, you can get screen protectors - I'm using "Crystal Film" which I'm very pleased with. The screen is glass, so it's vastly less prone to scratching and other issues compared to iPods. But if his hands are dirty, then you are right, it might not be a good choice.

I spent a while trying to decide between a Blackberry Pearl 2 and a 4GB iPhone. They are both nice.

then again since the screen is class if dirt gets on there it will be much easier to clean off then from a keypad, a quick wipe on a sleeve should do the trick. But you should also check out plan pricing as well, i don't kno whow much blackberry plans run but I know they are pretty much mandatory to use a blackberry but that is vs. the plans associated with the iphone.
