Ah so that's what all the CDMA hoopla is about. Apple isn't going to Verizon. They're going to Sprint. Not only are they going to Sprint but they're just going to buy the company while they're at it.

Maybe the way you see it but that's not the way the government sees it.

Ya.......no.

Thats like saying Google cannot buy AdMob because of their market share. Oh wait, they bought AdMob.

Its only a problem if a company uses its market share to bully the competition a la Microsoft.

No it is a problem. We've seen the government stop tv companies from joining together cus they each are so big.

I'm pretty sure you're right about that too. I was just at a talk about the ARM architecture a couple weeks ago and they briefly went over ARMs origins with the Apple Newton. They also mentioned that the iPhone 3GS has 11 ARM cores inside of it.

Er, no ARM was not 'invented' for Newton. The ARM Holdings company was spawned from the ashes of the British computer company Acorn, who created RISC based CPU's for the Archimedes line of computers prior to Acorn failing. The ARM CPUs are descendents of these original RISC based desktop CPUs from the 80's.

As for the 3GS, it doesn't have 11 ARM cores(muffled lol), it has an Cortex A8 Core, singular. The 3G had an ARM11 core, singular.

Antitrust for what?

There are plenty of media outlets available aside from iTunes and Netflix. Just because something is popular and you combine it with something else that is popular doesn't mean it is an illegal monopoly.

You asked how it could not be allowed, I gave you examples of how such a transaction could not be allowed. Whether you think the government would find a netflix-apple merger to be illegal is a different story, but I answered your question perfectly legitmately.

Do some research. The only reason the Feds signed off on the AdMob sale was because Apple bought Quattro.

Deutsche Telecom shareholders aren't too happy with T-Mobile US business. Apple could step in and help them unload it.

Well that would be Apples fault as Deutsche Telecom is the provider of the iPhone and services in Europe and other markets, just not the US.

I always thought Google should buy T-Mobile, turn it into a Data only network, with unlimited Data for 50 a month (no soft-caps), utilize Google Voice for the calling and texting aspect of it and crush the competition with an unlimited everything for $50, with exclusive Android handsets.

Talk about a game changer....
