I just purchased my very first domain name from namecheap, and I received this Email
from them containing the order summary and this paragraph at the end

"SSL Certificates:
You will receive an email from support@geotrust.com with information and a link
to proceed with creating a SSL certificate. See help to find instructions on
how to create a CSR or install the certificate on your server."

I don't know what is SSL or CSR, can someone enlighten me please and are they important ?

Customer Service Representatives? No😛

Are you indeed planning on installing your site on your own server?

No, I'll use paid web hosting.

In that case, you'll want to contact them about setting it up. It will be easier to let them deal with all the technical stuff than to try and learn it all yourself, when you won't be using it anyway.

I feel stupid, though...I'd skimmed the last line of your post, and read it as "how to contact a CSR"...it's talking about CREATING a CSR, which is different and means Certificate Signing Request.

edit: And worse, her209 caught me on it before I posted this 🙁
