Aren't those illegal? I believe the police have a method to determine whether or not you are using them. Let me know how they work. ;)

What's a good jammer? A light foot on the gas pedal. Like magic, it makes you blend in with the other drivers, thereby foiling the radar/laser gun.

You beat me to it. Following the speed limits is the best radar fighting strategy there is.

Following the speed limits (for those of us who would rather not waste such time) sucks.

Yes and it's the thrill seakers and irresponsible speeders that cost thousands of U.S. lives a year not to mention high insurance rates and increased medical expenses. GROW UP! :|

Any device to prevent law enforcement devices from getting a lock on your speed is illegal. Call your local police station and ask! :)

Any device that transmits radio waves that isn't FCC licensed (last time I checked, NO radar jammer was licensed!) is unlawful to operate. If you're caught, you face insurmountable financial burden and legal issues.

Speeding doesn't save as much time as you think. I'm talking about going ten to fifteen miles over the highway limit which a lot of the time people do because of traffic flow. People that go 100 mph on the highway that get caught deserve what's coming to them. :|

Cheers!

So lassoing a miniature black hole to your Corolla is also illegal, eh? :D

Don't get caught speeding on your way there!

<< Phantom II >>

Saw a test on this one before. It did nothing, zip, nada. I imagine most are the same way.

Good luck finding a jammer for laser since its light based. I know there were some out that would sent out light across the license plate where most guns are aimed but not sure how well they work.

Don't be so stereotypical guys, maybe this guy can handle driving 100mph just like you can handle driving 65mph. He can do what he wants. Who are you to tell him how fast he can drive.

(just trying out some SUV logic here :))

"Passive" jammers (the idea is that they scramble and reflect any radar signals that hit it) do not work at all, and "active" jammers (which actually transmit radio waves on police radar frequencies) are highly illegal under FCC regulations.

The most important thing to use if you?re speeding is your head, second is the best detector you can buy. There are only two ?great? detectors on the mainstream market today, the Valentine 1, and the Escort Passport.

Thanks. :) I've got some experience in this area. I'm a leadfoot.

I never could afford a V1 before, and now that I can, I can't justify the $400 expense. I did have two others but I think they were garbage (and that's where they both ended up).

I don't use a radar detector anymore. But my attitude when I'm stopped and the fact that I'm usually not going what would be considered reckless speeds (NTM the fact that I don't have a detector in plain view of the officer) has saved me countless speeding tickets.

If you're a dick when you're stopped, or the cop sees a detector, you will get a ticket.

Calm down there sparky, he was replying to the other guy....take a deep breath, grab the seat of your pants, and slowly pull them down and away, might relieve some of that pressure.
