What is an agkga core

I am looking at the AMD XP1900 and this was an option for upgrade. What does this mean and is it worth it?

Thanks.

Not really sure what you're looking for but here goes...

An 'agkga' core refers to the stepping of the chip. New steppings come out from time to time and they *generally* mean small bug fixes and better overclocks.

An XP 1900+ is an awesome chip and I'd recommend it any day. As for the stepping... it kinda depends on what you'll be doing. If you won't be doing any OC'ing, go with the cheapest XP 1900+ you can find -- don't worry about the stepping.

If you will be OC'ing your chip, I'd say go with a newer stepping such as AGOGA. Of course, there are no guarantees; it's pretty much up to chance in the end. But I would think you'd have a slightly higher chance of getting a better OC'able chip with a newer stepping.

That is the info I am looking for. Thanks. Not doing any overclocking so I guess I don't need it.

Thanks again.
