First of all, in case you don't know, "mod" is short for "moderator", they're the people who've been selected to look over the forums now and then and check that insane profanity, racism, sexism, etc., etc. isn't posted, check for illegal content, and such. They're most likely selected by Anand, and are trusted by him to keep the forums in good shape.

We like to talk about them because are sometimes threads locked where most forums members don't know why, and a thread might be posted where the mods are asked why they locked it. Other times we post something about the mods for fun, and as you can see from the edit in your original post, the mods have a sense of humour, which is good. Keeps them from being seen as Big Brothers who don't give a jack about the members

From what I've picked up around here, he's headed to NC State next year for college. Dunno what he's majoring in, Maybe NFS4 can help us out.

But to get to the question at hand, The mods on this board are anonymous, other sites they aren't. So some ppl are curious to find out who they are b/c the mods are members of the board that do post here. Some people are curious and want to know these things. Me, I don't care. But I do think that the mods not being anonymous would change the dynamics of things a bit, not sure if it'd be better tho. :Q
