What is a safe Vcore voltage when OCing?

I want to be able to overclock my 1.6A within safe specs. And I also want to be able to use this computer for 5 years without the cpu burning out on me.

So for my question again.... how high is too much?

pardon my newbie question... but what is the default voltage that a northwood runs at?

And since you brought it up, I won't be using anything other than the HSF that intel supplied with the box.

is the stock hsf adequate for a 1.625v vcore? I will be running a TH7II and probably won't go anywhere above the max voltage this mobo comes in, despite the voltage mods that are out there......

default voltage is 1.5v 😉
stock heatsink is ok but you should use some Arctic Silver thermal paste instead of the supplied pad.
its cheap insurance.
1.625v is nothing to worry about.
