what is a safe +12 Volt line for my P4 2.4c

I have a p4 2.4c and plan to overclock it as far as possible. My Antec PP412X allows me to tweak the 12V and 5V rails. Here is my dilema. My 12V is currently at 12.17 volts idle. But under load, it dips to 11.85V. I can up the tweak the rails so that it will still be 12V when its under load but this will also raise my idle voltage. Do you think i should just leave it as is or would it be safe to raise it?

leave it. The rail under load is still within spec, right? +/- some percent is what all rails are supposed to run at. I think it's 10%, but I could be way off.

5% is within industry standard, if you are overclocking you want more like 3% varriance.

the weird thing is that typically, when overclocking your 12V should go up, your 5 down. What mobo are you suing? Is it one of the ones that powers the processor through the 12V rail?

im using an IC7.. on all my motherboards, the 12V dips when its under load... i thought that was normal..

No! +12V will go down or stay the same with quality power supply. 11.87-12.17 is nothing to fret about, it looks good to me. You cannot expect dead even all the time.
