Maybe he's butchering tha metaphor "back-pocket descriptor"

Like, back-pocket psychologist.

Except he says pocket book and refers to Marlon Brando... as though the person were a cheap imitation of Brando.

Provide some context. More lyrics please.

That Song

So I always get nostalgic with that song
But in my room it?s forced
It has to be in some car across the street
And I always catch the back of your head in a crowd
(Just) don?t turn around
t?s never you and you ruin those memories
And those photos are great if I catch ?em with the side of
my eye
But if I stare
(It) just turns into you and me
We?re just standin? there
And now it?s over
Would you hear me
Scream at the top of my lungs
And when you go there
Would you hear me
Scream at the top of my lungs
So I always fool my friends and we head down there
You think that we are rude/en route
We just drove past your old house and you weren?t there
And I?m always great when I?m hangin? with your buds
an? they lie
They think that I?m just fine
It?s always been that way
Just a "Pocketbook Brando"
And when you hold him
Would you hear me
Scream at the top of my lungs
You love my whisper
But did you hear me
Scream at the top of my lungs
So you crank that song
And it might sound doom
So just leave the room
While I sit an? stare
Cause this is rare
I really love that tune
Man, I love that song
I really love that song
I love that song
So when you go there
Would you hear me
Scream at the top of my lungs
And [when you?re hated/Would you hate it
Would you hear me
Scream at the top of my lungs
So you crank that song
And it might sound doom
So just leave the room
While I sit an? stare
Cause yeah, that?s rare
I really love that tune
Man, I love that song
I love that song
I love that song

Marlon Brando after a diet.

/thank you, thank you, I'll be here all week. be sure to tip your waitress.

I think he's implying that he's acting in a way that's superficially characteristic of Brando, and if I had to guess I'd say he's talking about Streetcar named desire.

But it's kind of a disjointed stretch of a reference, so beats the hell our of me.

Prolly just sounded good to him and made him seem literate.

If there's one thing I can spot it's a pseudo-intellectual, being one myself, that is.

A Pocketbook Brando is a person with many "friends" who never call, or only call when they want something, and never ask how they are doing. It comes from Marlon Brando, referring to his tendency to treat casual acquaintances like best friends. Supposedly, many people have his phone number in their pocketbooks but only pull it out to impress their dinner guests, not to ever actually call him. They assume that since he was a celebrity he didn't need friends.

That is an absolutely amazing song. Big Wreck had quite a few very good tracks, a truly under rated hard rock band.

The Oaf I think is the first single they had, that I remember at least. Most versions you'll find lack the additional time spent on the guitar as it drifts around, though...

EDIT: LOL what the hell is with me posting right after a one-post junior necros the hell out of a thread?!

my guess is "a highy simplified facsimile of Brando"

pocket books tend to be condensed version of the real deal.

think Coles Note but not that condensed.
