My camaro will be paid off in about a month and I will be looking for a new car possibly. I am kind of tired of the crampness and uncomfortable setting in the camaro and thought I might want to look at a different vehicle.

What I am looking for,

4 door preferebly
V6 Engine, really want to stray away from a 4cyl if possible
Comfortable interior
Kind of sporty looking but nothing too sporty
Good gas mileage(I average 22mpg right now, would prefer that or higher)

I will be using the car as a daily driver, and possibly for short road trips.

As of now I have been looking at the following cars

Chevy Malibu
Chevy Impala
Chevy Cobalt
Ford Focus
Dodge Neon

I am probably looking at spending $3000-7500 so a used car is what I am after. Is there any other car I SHOULD be looking at?

As you can see I am mostly a domestic car fan but would not be against foreign makers. I would prefer to spend less than more on a reliable somewhat low mileage vehicle.

As you

I would say Ford Fusion, but it'll be a bit tough to find a V6 in decent shape / miles below $10,000.

Your list doesn't make all that much sense to me though. If your Camaro seems cramped, a small / compact car like the Cobalt, Focus, or Neon won't be much better. They also (IIRC) only come with 4 cylinders.

If you're not dead set on a V6, look into a 4 cylinder Fusion (2006 or 2007) with around 40-60k miles. You might also be able to find a Mazda 3 (smaller) or 6 (larger) in that price range, but it's doubtful. If full size isn't too big for you, Ford Five Hundreds aren't sporty but they should be comfy. I've heard bad things about the newer Impalas. Not so much that they're unreliable, but the interior is apparently terribly cheap.

If you can't find anything newish in that price range, I'd look into an older (2003-4ish?) Accord / Altima / Maxima. I'd suggest a Grand Prix or Grand Am as well since I've always been fond of their body styling, but I doubt they'd be up to par with the formerly mentioned cars quality wise.

Nissan Maxima/Infiniti I30/I35

My I30 is a rock, no mechanical problems whatsoever in 11 years of ownership.

I add Mazda to your list. The 3, protege, and possible the 6 could all fit what you're looking for.

if you want to spend like say $10k a 2004 acura TSX is a great and ultra reliable 4 door car.

you can probably get them for $10k now for an 04 model with maybe 65-70k miles on it. i've got an 05 and i average around 25 mpg at about 75% freeway.

For your price range, something like a used Ford Focus would make much more sense than trying to find a 10 year old Infinity / Acura with 100k+ miles. If you want something bigger, you can just go to a standard sedan by Nissan, Ford, GM, etc... (might get a better deal than on toyota & honda). Luxury brands have their appeal, but they will always be more expensive to buy & repair than "standard" brands.

This thread is bullsh*t in every manner conceivable except where somebody has told you to get a Maxima.

Look at more GM cars -- Oldsmobile, Buick, etc.

These are dirt cheap

I would love to find own of these, but almost everyone I find has about 150k miles on it or they're dumb expensive. I saw one listen for $10k with 67k miles on it... and it was a 2003!

Anywhoo... I'd like to suggest Malibu Maxx or a newer Ion. My wife has a Malibu Maxx and we love it. Almost 100k miles and almost no issues so far. One issue is starting to crop up though which I think is a wheel bearing but I'll find out more on that Wed as it's going into the dealer for extended warranty service. I'm very heavily considering getting one for myself.
