what is a good tape for use inside a laptop?

Standard electrical tape leaves too much residue.

I need something that

1. will prevent unwanted electrical contact
2. can resist high internal laptop temps
3. sticks well
4. does not leave a residue

Whenever I take apart a computer or monitor, I always see different types of tapes used: black tape like electrical tape but with less residue, and yellow and foil tapes that never seem reusable. What kind of tapes are generally used in a laptop, or tablet, or monitor?

The yellowish tape that you usually see on the inside of electronics is Kapton (or some off-brand substitute). It works pretty well and the adhesive releases without any mess (not reusable after it's been heated, but that's why you have the roll).

Can I wrap an entire circuit board in this stuff?
