what is a good school for online learning?

so my company offers tution reimbursements if their employees want to get another degree(undergrad or graduate) in certain majors.

Being a full time working adult, the only ones that I can do are online or maybe evening courses.

my company website has a list of 'universities' to choose from, i,e Capella, Regis, Phoenix, etc etc.

When looking through those, how do I know which one will be recognized nationally? A lot of them states they are national accrediated by this or by that, so how do I know which ones will be worth my time? Ofcourse, the point of all this is to get another degree, and advance within my company, and if for some reason, I need to change career, I want this second degree to be recognized.

Any suggestions or experience guys?

All this time, I've been assuming that since my company is willing to pay for it, then the 'schools' should hold some weight correct?

I would avoid online degrees

try to go part time evening classes

places like NYU offers masters programs for full time working adults

What is their policy? Will they only pay for the schools listed? There are many state schools which run excellent online programs at prices much lower than the for profit universities such as Capella and Phoenix (Regis is non profit). If you can't choose your own school, make sure the one off the list is REGIONALLY ACCREDITED. That is the baseline for ensuring legitimacy and recognition from other schools and businesses.

Why hello there misinformed poster!

NYU itself offers online degrees. Would you avoid them?

check into whether you can take classes at a real school, just in the online department..I know a friend who is taking classes online through Georgia Tech, and in fact two of the classes I am in now are also 'online', so I don't see how that would be any different.except for the whole interacting thing, haha

What are you looking for a degree in? that makes a HUGE difference in online classes...for certain programs a university of phoenix degree is actually really highly touted in circles while in other cases its considered crap.

i had a friend working for boeing, and he ended up getting a second masters degree from stanford online...

he did go there for his first masters though...not sure how you qualify to take those classes
