I had a D-link DI-701 gateway for awhile - then it just mysteriously died one day. It'd show power, but that was it - the power LED would light, and nothing else would happen. No idea. Replaced with a DI-704. Then, after maybe a year with that, it started dropping connections about every 20 seconds. Replaced it with an SMC Barricade. That thing will go about 2-3 weeks before the connection starts getting laggy and weird. Reboot router then, and everything's fine.
