I am looking into make a comp and I am going to get a amd socket 939 cpu. What motherboard will compliment that well. DFI landparty's are good, but I do not know if I will need to overclock my cpu. MSI is also good, but I heard some coments on the northbridge fan being load. I want a semi quiet system that I may overclock, doesn't really matter if it is SLi compatible, and I want it to be nforce4...anysuggestions. I am a gamer and also a college student, do some auto cad from time to time as well...any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks:)

I just recently setup an A64 on an Asus A8V deluxe and I really liked it.

VERY good price for what you get, esp. considering its Asus.

4 DDR DIMMs
4 SATA
2 IEEE1394
1 digital audio out

etc...
great mobo, seems to run fantastic.

If you don't care for SLI, then the ASUS A8N-E (NF4 Ultra chipset) would be a good choice.

MSI Ultra... but yeah I'm considering changing its fan, not ear shattering but louder than I'm used to.

I just put together a MSI K8N4 Platinum non sli - Got the combo at Monarch and the free HL2. . . :)

The systems is just a couple weeks old, but the build experience went smoothly and everything came up the first time.
I'm not planning on OC'ing however, this board's SLI enabled twin was reviewed by Anand and the reviewers seemed to like it.

Thanks,
C
