What is a good heat sink / fan for a coppermine Celeron?

The price of retail coppermine Celerons seems to have gone up lately, so I am considering getting the OEM version and getting a separate HS/F. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good HS/F for a coppermine Celeron for under $20? The processor will be sitting on an MSI Master slotket in a BX motherboard (Gainward 6IBA).

I may overclock it a bit, but I probably won't be looking to push it too hard.

Also, if I buy a HS/F do I need thermal paste or will the HS/F come with it?

one of the cheaper Speeze / Spire ones (about £8 UK) does the trick fine though check that the thing isn`t too large to foul the socket lever if fitted in a Slotket - I flattened a slotket lever in a vice to help this when fitting a coolermaster....

almost any cheap square Athlon HS/Fan will cool a Coppermine if it fits and if it`s LARGE and fits, expect stupidly LOW temps or good OCing, use Arctic Silver-2 instead of the pink-pad-of-death which is usually supplied and read AS`s website for details how to use it.. the retail Heatsink is nice but even a £5 Speeze will cool better 🙂

Thanks oldfart and Witchfinder. I have been watching Newegg's prices. The retail version was appreciably more expensive earlier this week, but with the retail and OEM versions only $1 apart now I think I will go for the retail version. If I wait long enough for the prices to diverge again, though, I would like to get a nice HS/F -- maybe I will see how well it will overclock at some point with good cooling.

get the thermalright sk-6 you won't be dissapointed.. with my p3 overclocked to 1007@1.8 vcore I can never get the cpu temp above 36c so I'm quite pleased with it... I know you will be too
