This is not a General Hardware question.

you need to see the stats via the game engine. access the game's console, then type the specific command. any requests?

I can use cg_drawFPS in Quake III, but it always shows 86 fps, no matter what my settings are and I can't run the timedemo. I get an error message that says something about it being cheat protected. Anyone know what's up with that?

All Quake3 games are capped at 85 FPS by default. Use com_maxFPS 0 to disable it.

That only happens in RTCW and shouldn't happen in Quake3. To run timedemos in RTCW run the MP version of the game.
