What is a good brand of dog food?

I'm currently using Pro Pac. I want to change his food because I'm not happy with the way his coat looks (Very dull and gray). He's currently 11 months old so its also time for me to start looking for adult dog food. So which doggie food is a good food?

Every pet has individual needs for nutrition, I would recommend asking a vet or if that's not an option your local PetSmart/PetCo pet store.

I have two dogs, one has OCD which is pretyy common in labs/golden retrievers. Basically cartildge breaks of and continue to grow in the shoulder. He needs surgery to repair the condition, $1500. Our vet recommended getting Joint and Hip formula from Petsmart, I can't remember the brand, but I use Nature's Recipe.

My other dog is allergic to meat, so she gets the Allergy from the manufacturer. Her hair used to fall out around her eyes and she would chew on her feet because they itched.

EDIT: It wasn't Authority, thats the Petsmart brand, but it Nature's Recipe that I use. They have a good variety

You could just supplement his food with Linatone (fatty acid supplement you squirt on their food each morning). Worked well for my greyhound's coat and skin. Most pet stores should carry this.

Nutro
They have a lot of different formulas. My shepard has hip dysplasia and I use to buy that stuff too but I started buying pills that do the samething cause it ends up being cheaper for me.

Iams is what my dogs eat.
they are always healthy and energetic (cept the older one sometimes, which is normal)

Iams is highly recommended normally. 😀

I use the Iams Chicken & Rice (green bag) variety. My dog has no health problems, and I like it because it's available almost anywhere (including CostCo).

I use Purina One for our dog. Beef or Chicken. The Turkey one gives her gas. That's NOT good.

Of the grocery store / *mart brands, Purina One is one of the better ones for ingredients. Most of the cheap brands list fillers as the first few ingredients. Purina One has meat at the top.

Definitely NOT the best food for your pet, but, it's ok and not made of utter crap that most are.
