What is a good brand of <$50 sunglasses?

I have bought a lot of izone sunglasses and their premium iDrive sunglasses in the past but their selection blows now. Anyone know a good value brand for sunglasses?

I've been buying Maui Jim sunglasses for a few years now. They are lightweight, comfortable, and they stay on my face even on the ocean in windy conditions. Added bonus is the polarized lenses which cut glare quite a bit. They are almost 4x your price range but well worth the money IMO.

double your budget and get a pair of Serengetis. Excellent optics and build quality. The driver's brown gradient is an amazing tint - really makes things pop.

I just walk into Walmart and buy a pair from them for $10. They're usually fine, and since I'm more likely to lose my sunglasses before the break or wear out, it's not a big deal to lose a $10 pair.

Less than $50? Go to JC Penny and get their $10 off if you spend $25 or more coupon and get one of their sunglass of the rack.

You can check if the sunglass will fit or not. That's why I do not buy sunglass from the internet.

If your are a Costco member check out their Kirkland brand sunglasses. Most are under $50 and polarized. Some frames are even made in Italy.

++I just picked up a pair of the kirkland ones with the Italian made frames for ~$30 I believe, they are quite nice. Also you can score some Maui Jims at Costco for around $80-$100 but the styles are limited.

I stopped cheaping out on sunglasses a while ago. You only get two eyes. I have never seen an under $50 pair that in any way compares in fit and quality to a good brand.

Ray Ban polarized all the way. Maui Jims are good, too.

Unfortunately for me, I can't get sunglasses off the shelf - I wouldn't be able to drive or many other things, because of my bad vision. So, I need prescription lenses. And, I get prescription polarized lenses. So, obviously, they're going to cost a lot more than Maui Jims. Oh wait! I'm not stupid enough to pay $200 for $20 worth of product. So, even with prescription polarized lenses, I spend a lot less. And, oh my flying spaghetti monster, they even stay on my face when it's windy. Like someone above said, get a good pair at JCPenney or some place like that. And, I'd definitely go with polarized lenses - especially if you're ever around water (reflective glare).

We'll agree to disagree. I've done polarized prescription for years. I finally bit the bullet (and used up some remaining flex plan $$) and went for a pair of MJ's. The optical quality of those lenses was unlike any other I had used before. It's like when you clean your glasses and go "Holy Crap, I can see again!" That's what it was like switching between MJ's and my other pairs. They also are more comfortable, lighter and have held up better than anything else I've used.

Agree...I used to think the same in buying cheapo sunglasses and then got a pair of Oakleys. They are so light I forget I am wearing them sometimes.
