What is a good brand HD to get

I am getting new hard drive for new comp, i wondering what brand to get, i have heard that WD and Maxtor are 2 good brands, but one i looking at buying is a baracuda, is that brand any good?

The one in the add said 2mb buffer, and was 80 after rebate.

the brand is SEAGATE and they are usually VERY reliable hard drives. you may however want to look into a SATA drive or a drive with 8mb buffer

Yea my bad, for 10 more dollars i could get one on the web with the 8mb buffer, plus it prolly wouldn't end up being out of stock like the one in the add might.

I'd choose Seagate over them all then Western Digital then Maxtor.

Maxtors are good but over time they seem to get louder. Not a bad idea to choose whichever has the best warranty to.
