What is a good average temp of a CPU that is NOT overclocked?

I have a pentium 733. When I put the chip in and tried to put the retail fan/heatsink on, it took forever and a REALLY hard push on the heatsink rod to snap it into the latch.

I was wondering what an average running temp would be for the chip so I can tell if everything is ok.

i don't know about pentiums but t'birds get HOT, like pushing 60c sometimes.

well, mine is always around 43-49 celcius

Is that ok?

damn 60c is really pushing it, Safest temps should be around 35-40 degrees
