What is a good antenna for HDTV?

We purchased a wide screen HDTV for my parents last year. and it is using their previous TV's antenna.

They could get digital signals, but it would go in and out quite often as if it is losing signals.

What is the best type of antenna for this without Dish or Cable?

my roof antenna does a brilliant job, just hook the card up with a coax cable and i get crystal clear, 97%+ signal for pretty much every station...

I did the same thing. We've never had any TV service at my house and I bought a widescreen tube TV with built hdtv tuner.

I bought a thirty dollar electric antenna from best buy that supposedly receives the signal better since its powered. It's indoors and it works ok. sometimes it skips.

go to antennaweb and tell us which colors you are trying to get.

I have a Channel Master 4228 that is friggin awesome.

I can get all my local digital channels perfectly with a $20 Zenith Silver Sensor. This is the best price/performance indoor antenna, and I have a hard time seeing why I'd want to mess with an outdoor one . . .
