I did the same thing. We've never had any TV service at my house and I bought a widescreen tube TV with built hdtv tuner.
I bought a thirty dollar electric antenna from best buy that supposedly receives the signal better since its powered. It's indoors and it works ok. sometimes it skips.

If you only need UHF, this one is awesome. I replaced my ChannelMaster 4228 with this after comparing them one after the other in exactly the same location:
I can get all my local digital channels perfectly with a $20 Zenith Silver Sensor. This is the best price/performance indoor antenna, and I have a hard time seeing why I'd want to mess with an outdoor one . . .
