I've been struggling with stability issues with my current Tyan Tiger 133 MB and am at the point of giving up on it. Besides, it's a good excuse to upgrade my system. So, I'm looking for a good and stable new MB. I'm thinking I should go for one of the KT266A based MBs and I'm wondering what people recommend. I'd like USB 2.0 and I don't need onboard sound, but besides that I have very little criteria.

Thanks.

Just about all the KT266A boards are stable so it is just what do you want on the board, About all of them have sound but you can just disable that, I have built about all of them and one that stands out for me is the Epox 8KHA+, Fast, Stable and easy to set up, A lot of people say wait on the KT333 boards but for the price the KT266A's are fun to work with

I have an MSI and Soyo +, both have been very stable. But I would wait two weeks and get the kt333 version (Biostar already has theirs out). All of the reviews I have seen suggest a stable chipset giving you a 5-15% gain in bandwidth. Downside is the cost of the PC2700. I just picked up two sticks of the Mushkin (512) for $211 each on Thursday and noticed that the price has dropped to $199 on Saturday so maybe this is a trend

My Shuttle AK31v3 has severly lacked stabiity in win2K for me. So much so that I am using only win98 and Linux which seems to work just fine. Still I was VERY frustrated with the inability to get win2K working reliably on that MB. I been through all the diagnosis and message board and all that junk. I wont be buying another shuttle.

Overlooked your comment about wanting USB 2.0. If that is a criteria then definitely wait until the kt333 boards are released since more of them are coming with it onboard. Right now the only kt266a board I know of with it is the MSI raid board.
