ie you use a SAN array = 10-14 Drives on a rack, hook to a fibre switch and connect to the fibre adapter for storage. SAN array can be share between x amount of fibre switch and your computer sees it as a local drive not a share drive..

the qlogic card is 3000 retail, best i found on pricewatch/pricegrabber is 1500
