What is this unusual trait and how does it come to be? Why do douchebags exist? How do they exist?

Why was it so easy for me to not be one, yet, it seems the ones who are can't do anything to not be one?

The things I think about after midnight.
 
A douchebag is anyone more attractive and charismatic than me. They are this way because women like them, just like women like assholes. Douchebags and assholes overlap in most ways, in fact. The next time you see an attractive guy with styled hair, expensive clothing, and a well-chiseled physique and an equally beautiful woman wrapped around him, you'll know that you've seen a douchebag.</L&R>
