What is a BOM version?

So I'm trying to install a new cpu, but on this website is says that I must have the BOM version 17. But I don't even know what a BOM is. So does anyone out there know? And if so, is it a problem that I could fix or will I need to get a new motherboard?

If it helps, my motherboard is the 867AS and the cpu I'm trying to install is an Athlon XP 2100+, I believe the AXDA one.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
-Josiah

Any ideas on if this is updatable? Or am I stuck with the BOM version that I have? Cause if I am, then I will need to buy a new mobo.

From what I see on your link, the BIOS version is A08. I looked through their site and you can update the BIOS to A09.

Straight link to download A09.

The page I got it from.

It seems as though your BIOS is updatable, will it solve your problems... I don't know....

I don't remember how well the KT266 chipset does with Athlon XP's with Palaminos, T-breds, or Bartons... depending on what Athlon XP you got.

Since the BIOS revision is in the upper left corner, I guess the BOM thing is the HARDWARE revision of the mainboard.

I agree, (Build of Motherboard ??? ) Look for a sticker on your MoBo.
