What is a Best Buy gamer's gift card and where do i get it?

i heard that it contains $5 off coupon for any games 19.99 and up in it..

i checked bb online and it only has normal gift cards, these are different?

Yes. Just go into your local BB and go over to the games section. You'll find gift cards in slim CD cases there. The coupon is on the back of the insert.

As a side question, how long does it take gift cards to be 'activated' after you buy one? Tonight I just went and tried to do the gamers gift card trick for the first time to get $5 off a game. Got the card, opened it up for the coupon, got my game, went to checkout. Tried to use the gift card I just bought and they were saying it was empty. After waiting for 5 minutes they told me it might take up to 24 hours to activate. Is this true or was the guy ringing me up just incompetant?
